Controller Information
There are a few things that are good to know when purchasing a controller for your copter. Every controller that has at least 4 channels will work for flying a quadcopter. A channel is basically a variable of information that can be transfered wirelessly from your controller to your model. For example: The roll channel is the channel that controls the right to left motion of your copter.
There are 4 main channels that your copter has to have to fly, they consist of the following:
-Roll
This channel controlls right to left movement of the copter.
-Pitch
This channel controls the forward and backward movement of the copter.
-Yaw
This channel controls the spin of the copter.
-Throttle
This channel controls the speed at witch the copter assends and decends, it also controls the speed at witch the copter does anything, like rolling or pitching.
Most controllers have mroe than four channels, the extra channels are used to controll things like modes, or possibly a connected camera gimbal. Most flight controll boards offer modes that can be changed with your controller, some of these include GPS mode, where the copter basically stays put, holds position. Another popular mode is acrobatic mode, this mode is for doing things like flips, and rolls.
As long as your controller has around 8 modes you are good to control pretty much any flight control board. The key, the golden number is around 8. Any more channels than 8 is awesome, as the more channels you have the better, but 8 is fine for any normal copter.
